The Kodiak 450 EPS SE has the power to conquer the toughest terrain thanks to its 421cc single cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces plenty of smooth torque at low revs. It’s Electronic Fuel Injection system ensures easy starting in hot or cold conditions at a range of altitudes, giving reliability and economical performance wherever you go.

So that you can find the optimum traction even on the most challenging terrain the Kodiak 450 EPS SE is fitted with specially developed front and rear tyres mounted on light weight Aluminium wheels. Featuring an all-terrain tread pattern, the extra-wide AT25x8-12 front tyres and the AT25x10-12 rear tyres find extra grip whether you’re riding across mud, snow and rock.

The all-round independent double wishbone suspension gives 171mm front wheel travel and 189 rear wheel travel, helping to make light work of extreme terrain. With their ability to soak up bumps, ruts and other obstacles the KYB gas charged shock system with preload adjustable springs allows for all day riding comfort.

ON COMMAND® 2WD/4WD/Diff Lock

The Kodiak 450 EPS SE models are fitted with an easy to operate On-Command® system with 2WD/4WD and 4WD with Diff Lock for full control and for quick and effective switching between 2WD and 4WD, or even full diff lock allowing you to choose the right option to suit the terrain and surface conditions,

ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS)

The Kodiak 450 EPS SE model is equipped with Yamaha’s highly acclaimed Electronic Power Steering (EPS) that is specially designed to give you the best balance of rider assist combined with a natural and positive feel. And for additional illustration, the EPS model features a powerful halogen handlebar-mounted high beam headlight.

Ultrasonic® CVT Transmission

Ultrasonic® CVT automatic transmission makes every trip easier and more enjoyable, both for seasoned riders and also for new entrants to the mid-sized utility ATV class. Its durable V-belt delivers smooth acceleration – and the Kodiak 450’s EPS SE’s sophisticated all-wheel engine braking system gives added comfort and control when driving downhills.

By choosing the Kodiak 450 EPS SE you’re getting the best of both worlds, because this mid-sized utility ATV benefits from a compact and stylish body design that’s easy to manoeuvre in difficult terrain while the spacious and ergonomic riding position ensures all day comfort. Featuring a low centre of gravity, the designed chassis delivers precise, nimble and confident handling for maximum riding enjoyment. For an extra-smooth ride the engine features special vibration-reducing mounts.

The handlebar mounted LCD dashboard features neutral, reverse and park indicator lights on the left with coolant temperature, engine management and a 4WD engagement indicator on the right. To continue to be informed during the ride the LCD display includes a speedometer, odometer, tripmeter, hour/service meter and fuel meter.

The Kodiak 450 EPS SE features the same rugged, functional and user-friendly design as the legendary big bore Kodiak 700. With a range of service friendly features, including an easily accessible air filter and oil dipstick, this tough mid-sized ATV is built to get the job done in the toughest terrain.

To underline its position as the definitive mid-sized utility ATV, the Kodiak 450 EPS is fitted with a powerful WARN VRX 25 winch.

ATVs with engines up to 70cc are recommended for use only by riders 6 years and older and always with adult supervision. ATVs with engines of 70 to 90cc are recommended only for use by riders 10 years and older, and always under adult supervision. ATVs with engines of 90cc or greater are recommended for use only by riders 16 years and older. ATVs are built to operate within their design limits. Safe towable weights, together with maximum carrying capacity are identified in the owner’s manual if applicable. For durability, reliability, but most important of all, operator safety, under no circumstances should the recommended capacities be exceeded. Yamaha recommends that all ATV riders take an approved

The period of cover under this warranty is from the first date of registration or date of first sale to a customer, if the unit remains unregistered. See Unit Delivery Document for specific Factory Warranty period of this unit.

YAMAHA ASSURANCE

Your unit is manufactured under strict quality control. However, should there be any defect in material or workmanship, the Company guarantees that it will be corrected without charge (except for Competition models). Refer to the Dealer from whom you purchased your unit or any other Yamaha authorised Dealer in Europe. This Warranty is not affected by a change of ownership, with any remaining period of cover being transferable to subsequent owners.

YAMAHA FACTORY WARRANTY BENEFITS & CONDITIONS

Benefits:
The Company guarantees that throughout the Factory Warranty Coverage it will replace any part of the unit which has failed through either a material defect or incorrect factory assembly free of charge providing:

Conditions:

The unit bears the original manufacturer’s identification marks.
The unit is maintained as specified in the Owner’s Manual, and is used in accordance with the instructions herein.
The item to be replaced is either part of the original equipment or a genuine replacement part, with repairs and/or replacements carried out by authorised Yamaha Dealer in Europe.
Reasonable care has been taken to keep the unit clean and free from chemical attack according to the cleaning instructions in the Owner’s Manual.
The unit has not been subjected to any unauthorised alterations, misuse, negligence or accident, or has not been used for purposes other than those for which it was designed, or has not been operated with fuel and lubricants other than those recommended.
Any non-fulfilment of conditions 1 to 5 may, in the discretion of the Company, result in the warranty being fully or partly void.
This Warranty shall be construed in accordance with the country law and any question arising from this Warranty shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts.
This warranty does not provide for alternative transport for the period of repair, in the event of a warrantable failure.
The unit is inspected before usage to be sure your unit is in safe operating condition. Please refer to your owner’s manual for individual unit requirements.

THE YAMAHA FACTORY WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY IN THE FOLLOWING INSTANCES

Replacement and/or adjustment due to normal deterioration or wear, and removal of carbon build-up.
Corrosion, oxidation and discoloration caused by weather conditions, salt, harsh chemical products or cleaning compounds.
Damage caused by improper use for a purpose other than originally designed or intended.
Damage caused by use in races, rallies or other similar competitive sports.
Damage caused by an act of God, fire, collision or accident.
Damage caused by installation of parts or accessories that are not original or approved equipment.
Damage caused by improper maintenance or setup by a Dealer or customer.
Damage caused by improper transportation or storage.
Transportation charges to or from the repairing Dealer.
Items which are service parts, those having a lifespan based on usage and expected to be replaced during normal service. Examples of such parts include, but are not limited to propeller, batteries, filters, spark plugs, transmission components, timing chains and timing belt, anodes and certain seals and gaskets.

NOTE:
The replacement of oil, grease and other such items shall be covered when they are used as part of a Warranty Repair.

CUSTOMER LIABILITY

The customer shall ensure the unit is operated and maintained properly, in compliance with the instructions and guidelines in the Owner’s Manual.
The customer shall bear the costs of regular service and maintenance, as well as replacement costs of normal wear items.
The customer is also liable for failure and damage caused by abuse, neglect and accidents including incidental and consequential costs.
In the event of a suspected defect, the customer shall present the unit to an authorised Yamaha Dealer in Europe within ten days of the suspected defect being noticed.
The customer is also liable for stripping down and/or inspection costs for a suspected Warranty problem that proves unwarrantable.
The customer is liable for any subsequent repairs that are not Warranty-covered.

Of course, we hope that your unit will not be subject to a warranty repair, whilst abroad. Before you commence your journey, we would however recommend that your unit is thoroughly serviced, with particular attention paid to items such as propeller, timing belt, engine oil and gear oil, spark plugs, filters, anodes etc. which may otherwise require replacement whilst abroad.

HOW DO I FILE A CLAIM?

If you experience a problem with your unit, which you believe should be dealt with under the Warranty, please promptly contact your supplying Dealer or any other authorised Yamaha Dealer in Europe to arrange for the unit to be inspected.

If any problem develops which you believe may render the unit unsafe to use please call your Dealer for help and do not use the unit until it has been inspected.

All claims under Warranty must be submitted on your behalf through an authorised Yamaha Dealer.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED?

We hope you will be pleased with your Yamaha unit and the service we and our Dealers supply.

However, if you have any reason to complain, please send your complaint, in writing, to your Dealer and a copy of your letter to the Customer Service Department of your Yamaha Distributor.

If your complaint is not handled to your satisfaction or if you believe you are being treated unfairly you may elect to put your case to independent arbitration and we shall be bound by the arbitrator’s decision.

If you wish to do this your Distributor’s Customer Service Department will supply you with full procedure details.

PERIODIC INSPECTION

Yamaha units require periodic maintenance and lubrication, the frequency of which may vary between models. Please refer to your unit’s Owner’s Manual for details.

It is essential and a prerequisite that properly conducted, periodic inspections according to the following schedule are carried out to receive the full benefits of the Warranty, described in these Warranty Conditions. Our authorised Yamaha Dealers are trained and highly skilled on any Yamaha unit. Therefore, it is highly recommended that for the safe and sound use of your unit, periodic inspections should be performed by your Yamaha Dealer.

Please make sure the Dealer registers each service interval. Failure to have these services carried out may affect the reliability of your unit and may invalidate the Warranty.

EASI TRAINING

All customers purchasing new ATVs from an official UK Yamaha dealership can take advantage of a European ATV Safety Institute Rider Training Course.

New Owners
Included in the retail price of all new Yamaha All Terrain Vehicles is one place to attend a European All Terrain Vehicle Safety Institute (EASI) Rider Training Course.

The 4.5 hour 15 lesson course, is designed for all levels of rider ability from entry to experienced, and offers fundamental advice on machine pre-ride checks, use of protective clothing & equipment and riding techniques.

Further places can be booked at the point of sale for up to four riders at the heavily subsidised rate of £90.00 per person.

Existing Yamaha Owners
Existing Yamaha ATV customers can take advantage of the rider training course at a cost of £90.00 per person.

Used Machines
For those who are looking to purchase a used machine you can also take advantage of the rider training course the cost of £180.00 per person, these can be booked at any of the Yamaha National Quad Centres or by contacting EASI on 01903 816286.
