Homologated UMQ Commercial Lightweight Vehicle
Yamaha’s partnership with Quaddy has resulted in the new UMQ homologated model which meets all European regulatory requirements for use of lightweight commercial vehicles on public roads. With its large rear cargo bed and spacious front locker, this quietly efficient all-electric workhorse can handle a huge range of tasks. The UMQ is emission-free of course, as well as being very easy to drive and operate.
At its heart is a punchy 5.0 kW motor that‘s not just quieter and better for the environment, but has a good range and is simple to plug in and charge. The new UMQ delivers smooth, flexible power that’ll take you just about anywhere in a park, resort, golf course, farm, airport, factory plus all European public roads, camping grounds, industrial areas, and construction site parking lots… just point and go.

Born ready for the road, the UMQ is based on the popular UMX and comes equipped with a specially designed homologation solution that includes features like a certified ROPS (Roll-Over Protective Structure), direction indicators, front and rear lights, approved 22″ tires, emergency brake system, and a tow hitch.
Inside, the vehicle is adapted to meet safety and functionality standards required by WVTA with 3-point safety belts, adjustable driver’s seat, easy to reach controls, a multifunctional display, and a nicely finished headliner. Furthermore, the cabin area can be partially enclosed for added comfort.

Aluminium cargo bed with one-touch tailgate: The Yamaha UMQ is built tough, so it’s always ready for hard work, day and night if necessary – in any weather. It’s designed to carry an impressive payload of tools, equipment and supplies, thanks to its durable aluminium tipping cargo bed, with convenient one-touch tailgate. The spacious bed measures 106.6 cm long x 116.6 cm wide x 30.2 cm deep for the UMQ L and 80.6 cm long x 116.6 cm wide x 30.2 cm deep for the UMQ T.
2 individual seats and centre console: The UMQ features a thoughtfully designed 2-seat interior with a convenient centre console and flat floor. Combined with the variable rate suspension and wide 22” tyres, this practical layout gives the driver and passenger a comfortable ride, even on less-than-perfect roads and tracks. The open sides make getting in and out of the UMQ quick and easy.
Smooth, punchy 5.0 kW electric motor: At the heart of the nimble and easy-to manoeuvre UMX AC is a punchy 5.0 kW electric motor that‘s not just quieter and cleaner for the environment, but has a good range and is quick to charge.
Efficient, rugged and whisper quiet: The efficient and quiet UMQ is ready to take on a wide variety of jobs in different environments, and the rugged and durable bodywork is designed to withstand heavy duty usage. Recessed reflector-type LED headlamps provide improved visibility and the wide tyres spread the load to minimise surface impact.
Spacious 29-Litre front storage box: As well as the large rear cargo bed, the UMQ is also equipped with a practical, spacious front storage box featuring a hood that is fitted with a convenient one touch opening mechanism. Offering protection from the worst weather conditions – and with a capacity of 29 litres – it’s ideal for stowing tools or equipment when on the move.

To increase comfort, optional cabin enclosures of windshield, rear window and side windows are available as bolt-on accessory for the UMQ L and the rear window and side windows are fitted at the factory to keep the elements at bay for the UMQ T.
Type approval: The UMQ is equipped with all required features to meet European road legal type approval, such as LED direction indicators. The UMQ may be registered for use on public roads, opening up a world of new possibilities.
