The STIHL MSA 300 battery-powered chainsaw is our most powerful professional cordless chainsaw. Part of the STIHL AP System of battery tools, it has three power levels which let you adjust the chain speed of the chainsaw between 20, 24 or 30 m/s.
So you can use it in the right way for whatever task you are doing, whether it’s felling, pruning or cutting to length, all whilst maximising the battery life. It also features an anti-vibration system and like all of our battery tools, it’s quieter than the petrol equivalent and easy to use. The LED display on the chainsaw makes it easy to monitor oil levels, check the status of the chain brake and the temperature of the cordless chainsaw too.

- Soft Grip control handle
The control lever with potentiometer function allows you to control the speed of your battery-powered chainsaw on an infinitely variable basis, and in this way easily control and adjust its performance as needed. On consumer chainsaws, the potentiometer function is integrated into the throttle lever.
- Operating Modes
This chainsaw offers you 3 different operating modes. In “Eco” mode, the chainsaw operates with reduced power for maximum battery runtime. “Felling” mode uses the highest possible torque at reduced chain speed, to help you saw as evenly and powerfully as possible. “Delimbing” mode gives you a very high chain speed for precise cuts. Use the activation button to start your chainsaw in your preferred mode.
- Fleece Filter
The non-woven air filter filters sawdust, fine dust and dirt from the cooling air flow. This keeps the heat sinks of the power electronics and the engine parts clean in the long term. The removed non-woven air filter can be easily and effectively cleaned with STIHL Varioclean and then reused. Cleaning should be carried out regularly – monthly in the event of heavy use.
- Performance Electronics with De-rating function
The derating function offers you two advantages in your work: first, this function protects your chainsaw against possible overheating by reducing the current. Additionally, it notifies you by means of a reduction in power if you only have very little battery power remaining. In both cases, the function allows you to finish cuts that have already started without the engine switching off.
- Connectivity Ready
Compatible with the Smart Connector 2A. You can mount a Smart Connector 2 A in the housing of the power tool at the dedicated position. Once installed, this connects to the control unit and transmits valuable power tool data to your smartphone, tablet or the STIHL connected Box that is within range. You can use the STIHL connected App and the STIHL connected Portal to view the STIHL connected gathered data and benefit from additional functions.
- EC Motor
Thanks to its compact design, low weight and high efficiency, the EC engine enables you to work in an energy efficient manner. This engine also has a long service life.
- Quick Chain Tensioning
You can tension your saw chain quickly and without tools, thanks to the adjusting wheel. Turning the adjusting wheel to the left releases tension on the saw chain, and turning the adjustment wheel to the right tensions the saw chain. The guide bar will be automatically secured when you tighten the sprocket cover.
- Constant power
With other brands of battery tools, the performance usually decreases during work as the battery discharges. This is not the case with STIHL cordless power tools with CONSTANT POWER. Thanks to the intelligent electronics, your STIHL power tool works with consistently high power.
- IPX4 Certified
The IPX protection classes define the moisture protection of electrical or electronic devices. The moisture protection test is defined in different stages. IPX4 certifies protection against splash water from all sides. Battery-powered tools with this certification are therefore designed for daily use, even in rainy conditions.
