The STIHL FSA 400 is STIHL’s first battery-powered clearing saw, built specifically for landscaping professionals and grounds maintenance teams tackling the most demanding cutting and clearing work. Offering performance on par with the FS 411 C-EM petrol model, the FSA 400 is ideal for clearing heavy grass, shredding thick vegetation, and even felling small trees — all while delivering the quiet, low-emission benefits of battery power.
Designed for extended use in noise-sensitive areas, such as urban developments, parks, and schools, the FSA 400 combines professional-grade cutting performance with enhanced user comfort and reduced environmental impact.
Equipped with an ergonomic bike handle and a quick-adjust folding clamp, the FSA 400 allows for optimal working posture during large-scale clearing tasks. Its high-efficiency EC motor offers three adjustable speed levels via the control handle, and automatic RPM adjustment ensures maximum efficiency depending on the tool attachment — ramping up to 6,900 RPM for BrushCut or PolyCut heads, and scaling down to 5,000 RPM when using the AutoCut head.
To minimise fatigue during long shifts, the FSA 400 features the STIHL anti-vibration system, reducing strain on muscles and joints. A washable stainless steel air filter keeps the motor cool and running at peak performance, extending the life of the tool.
Built for all-weather reliability, the FSA 400 is IPX4-rated and constructed with durable, professional-grade components, including a robust battery housing and a 28 mm aluminium shaft. It also includes a mounting point for the STIHL Smart Connector 2 A, allowing seamless integration with STIHL’s fleet management system.
Supplied with the AutoCut 46-2 mowing head and the ADVANCE PLUS universal harness as standard, the FSA 400 is compatible with a wide range of STIHL cutting attachments, offering flexibility for every task:
