RMA 448 PV cordless lawn mower: 46 cm / 18″ lawn mower for large lawns, with variable speed drive
The RMA 448 PV from STIHL is a battery-powered lawn mower with variable speed drive, designed for users looking to cut large lawns. This 4 Series battery-powered lawn mower is quiet and packs plenty of power – making it the ideal choice for gardeners.
This lawn mower is built with a rugged polymer deck that is lightweight, rust proof and double layered for additional stability. It’s UV resistant, has a 48 cm / 18″ cutting width and single point height adjustment that is adjustable between 20 – 100 mm. The RMA 448 PV is part of the AP System range of tools and is powered by an AP 300 S battery that is interchangeable with other machines across the range. This lawn mower is fitted with sequential battery discharge, which means the lawn mower has an automatic switchover feature – so when one battery runs out of power, it will automatically switch over to the next one.
On a full charge with the recommended AP 300 S battery you will be able to mow lawns up to 510 m2, which becomes 1,020 m2 when the lawn mower is used with two AP 300 S batteries.
The RMA 448 PV has 4 different ways of mowing. No additional tools are required but we do recommend you refer to the owner’s manual before working. You can either:
- Cut & collect with the grass catcher box fitted
- Cut & drop by removing the grass catcher box
- Side discharge with the flap that is integrated into the deck
- Mulch with the multi-blade and mulching attachment
The RMA 448 PV has a built-in electronic interface on the mono-handlebar which shows useful information such as the battery charge, the ability to switch between mowing modes and adjust the motor speed levels. The comfort mono-handlebar allows easy access to the grass catcher box, making it easier to remove and empty when it’s full – plus, thanks to the fill level indicator on the grass catcher box you’ll know exactly when to empty the box too! The 52-litre grass catcher box is ergonomically designed and easy to fully open for fast emptying. The sturdy mono-handlebar is height adjustable and foldable for compact storage after use.
